TMC’s philosophy on safety is “Work safe, live safe”. This statement reflects our belief that safety is a never-ending responsibility of everyone. It does not just start in the morning when you arrive at work and stop when you leave work to go home to your families. It’s a way of life that ensures that you, your co-workers, your family, your community and the Company all benefit. The very nature of mining carries some risks.

Our responsibility as an employer is to provide a safe working environment for you, the training to identify hazards and how to work safely around them and when risks present themselves, to take measures to eliminate or minimize them to the greatest degree possible.

As safety is a shared responsibility, we require your commitment to follow all health and safety policies and procedures, to continually monitor your workplace and the safety of your co-workers, to identify and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor and to promote safety in everything you do. No job is worth doing unsafely - none. We ask you to remember this every minute of the day, not just for yourself but for your co-workers and your families.

TMC is committed to the following:

• We will provide you with the necessary equipment and tools to conduct your job in a safe manner and we will enforce its use
• We will establish policies and procedures that reflect proven, best practice, safe ways to run our operations
• We will provide every employee with the training necessary to conduct their jobs safely and properly
• Should accidents occur, we will conduct an in-depth investigation and determine how to avoid their reoccurrence
• We will not compromise the safety of anyone for the sake of production
